Heidi Lawden
Heidi Lawden was inspired by and embedded in London's club and early rave scene as a teen and has worked in the world of dance music ever since; a lifer.
Now based in L.A, she DJs at the world’s finest clubs, undergrounds and festivals, fluidly combining House, Techno and synth-laden Disco oddities to create a world of her own. Heidi has gained the respect and admiration of her peers through her knowledge, style, skill and infectious excitement in the booth as well as her commitment to elevating dance music, and its global community. A true crossover DJ playing gay and straight parties, she invariably promotes fellow female, queer and gender fluid artists through both her party bookings and radio show. When it comes to her DJ sets, she's 'not a planner' and likes to move with the crowd feeding off their energy on any given night, Heidi's range is immense. She excels when given lengthy sets that truck through into morning, whilst she also relishes and thrives given the opportunity for an open to close, she’s clocked up 10+ hr log sets solo.
Panorama Bar, Klymax, Basement NYC, Kaiku, Night Tales, Jolene, Public Records, Pikes, Horsemeat Disco, Cocktail De Amore, Glitterbox, Bears In Space Coachella, Wildwood, Kala, Gala, Love International, Skyline, Sunset Campout, Glastonbury, Daytrip, Beat Hotel, EDC, iiiPoints, Hï Ibiza are among the clubs, festivals and parties on her regular DJ schedule as well as being a partner with Masha Mar in the respected Take It Outside party series in her hometown of LA. Together they have presented everyone from Honey Dijon, Avalon Emerson, Paula Tape, Eris Drew and Octo Octa, Massimiliano Pagliara, and DJ Minx to name a few.
She has released tracks under the names Locussolus, Heidi Höven, as well as her own name on label Extra Sensory. Heidi has remixed for labels including Heavenly, International Feel, a Locussolus track she cowrote and produced featuring her vocals is in the Searchlight movie, Greatest Hits. She has music supervised for commercial, tv, fashion shows and created soundtracks for restaurants and bars worldwide, including a notable commission for Heineken that aired during the Super Bowl that went on to win a prestigious Cannes award. She collaborates with the ESP Institute & DJ Harvey by day.
Heidi is a human and animal rights advocate, with a liter of rescue animals of her own, she’s a private, homebody between tours spending her days working in the studio on material primarily for her own DJ sets, she's somewhat media shy preferring to let her music, parties and occasional socials posts do the talking. Heidi knows more than she shows, and is open and generous with her time behind the scenes to support burgeoning talent, she has been and remains a key figure both in the booth and background of the global scene.
